![]() You will get a chance to ride up to the rim of one section of the canyon but the remainder of the experience is tearing around the countryside going through rivers and over big hills and through forest trails and experiencing the region and playing on some fantastic machines. This is true but that isn’t what they are advertising. I saw some negative reviews that stated that the tour doesn’t show much of Bryce Canyon. Mike was our guide and he was great! My wife and I had both ridden ATVs before but this experience can be enjoyed by people of any experience level. We both took turns driving and the scenery and driving off road like that was a blast for us.My wife and I stopped in here on a whim after hiking all day in Bryce Canyon and we each got our own ATV for a 1-hour ride. Because of the mud and snow we couldn’t go all the way up but it was all amazing to see. After roaming through the canyon we headed back down and went up toward Hancock Peaks where we saw this otherworldly gray landscape. We first went to Casto Canyon and we were up close and personal to the orange hoodoos. Then we had a full 4 hours to roam through this beautiful country on our own. Then David led us to our starting point and gave us a rundown of the area we were to explore, explained how to read the map which took another 15 minutes. The paperwork, helmet fitting and review of how to operate the UTV took about 30 min. ![]() From the moment I called until check out, David and Tina were great! They explained everything thing in detail, updated me with text messages, helped choose the best rental to do. ![]() But if you’re looking to get away from the crowds, see some gorgeous sites, and have a legit off-road adventure, then American ATV is for you. This is not a guided, amusement park-ish experience. So, as you can tell, we 100% recommend American ATV - for adventurous, competent drivers. We did the full day so that we didn’t need to rush and were glad we did because we really enjoyed our leisurely lunch where we chatted with some locals about the area and their UTVs. I’m guessing another reason is to discourage some folks from sound stupid stuff in mud! ![]() Why do customers have to clean it? One reason is that the mud dries quickly and forms a cement-like material. We did run into rain and flinging, hale-sized mud during our last 1/2 hour, so we used the recommended gas station to fill up and wash down. One of the agreement stipulations is needing to wash the vehicle before returning IF it gets excessively muddy. The views are GORGEOUS, and we had a picnic lunch up at Peterson Peak with the most amazing views as the backdrop. The BEAUTIFUL THING is that once we took off, we were by ourselves, free to explore at our leisure and choosing the paths we wanted to take. And your riding time starts from when he actually sends you off, not just a set time on the clock, so you feel comfortable asking questions without worrying about trail time. Dave guided us out to the trailhead and basically walked us through all the terrain we would encounter - making sure we could identify locations on the map he provided in relation to the area he was discussing. Owners Dave and Tina are thorough and thoughtful with all steps in the process- from being clear about what you’re signing to a clear, thorough orientation to the vehicle and the trails. My husband and I rented a UTV from American ATV, and it was an AWESOME experience from start to finish. ![]()
